We are all familiar with the headache of not having enough battery charge when we need it most. Worse, of batteries dying out in the middle of important conversations. Worry no more because Simon Wilby, the CEO of Smart Power Inc., has invented an impressive device that can change this frustrating scenario.

The Smart One solves this problem by providing continuous battery charge using the energy emitted by the sun and other light sources. It comes in a kit that can be retrofitted to major cellular phone models and brands in less than a minute. The kit includes a modified battery that uses updated lithium battery technology and latest technology plastic solar cells, both of which are claimed to perform better than previous technologies.

The Smart One gets juice via solar cells that are affixed to the back of the battery door. The energy converted through these will then get stored in the battery, virtually eliminating the need for connecting the phone via a power cord or a wall socket.

Considered by many as a huge step at infusing solar power into daily household use, The Smart One is presently Smart Power Inc.’s best shot at making charge-free cell phones.

20 seconds…that’s all it takes to convert a standard cell phone to a solar powered device.

The Smart Power Inc., a company based in Barbados that harvests alternative energy for household use, has recently announced the availability of a solar powered battery for the local market. This device is designed to replace standard lithium-ion batteries and chargers with one that runs on solar power. Matched with an updated battery technology called lithium exon, this alternative device is said to have excellent capabilities that outperform products available in the market today.

The Smart One permits extra long hours of uninterrupted talk time, which is made possible by its self-charging system that continuously converts light energy for cell phone use whenever exposed to light sources. From the usual 4 to 5 hours allowed by standard batteries, this innovative device pegs talk time at 14 hours, with 12 hours minimum. In addition, it makes use of the latest-technology plastic solar cells that do not only lessen problems associated with weight and bulkiness, but also improves the efficiency of energy conversion due to its full circuitry. This construction is the very reason why the solar panel can trap in light even while partially exposed.

With these capabilities, Simon Wilby’s genius creation is expected to replace traditional cell phone batteries and chargers.

The year-round dose of sunlight in Barbados is the inspiration for Simon Wilby’s company, Smart Power Inc. The company chose to establish its headquarters in the sunny country where the moderately tropical climate is ideal for testing and developing solar powered devices.

During the first quarter of 2009, Simon Wilby launched The Smart One to the Barbadian market. This unique aftermarket device makes use of solar power to run cell phone batteries. Through the plastic solar cells that are attached to the back of mobile phones, light energy will be converted and sent to the modified battery that comes along The Smart One package. The same technology is being considered for application to other handheld gadgets, game consoles, and laptops. The inventor recently indicated that the device will be offered to local telecommunications companies who would be adopting the same technology for their products.

The intuitive CEO knows the value of the technology he invented. Backed by his support team from Smart Power Inc., he is looking for more ways to put this technology to productive use. Among the immediate potential uses he saw is the conversion of a number of street lights in some parts of Barbados from traditional energy source to solar power.

Simon Wilby, inventor of The Smart One, an aftermarket solar powered replacement for mobile phone batteries and battery doors chose sun soaked Barbados as headquarters for his company The Smart Power Incorporated.

The island nation was also the perfect place to launch The Smart One, an aftermarket gadget designed for use with any cellular phone that allows it to charge using solar power or practically any light source. The brainchild of Simon Wilby himself, The Smart One does away with conventional chargers and ensures your cellular phone has power no matter where you are.

The Smart One can easily be used with existing cellular phones since its discreet design blends well with standard phone models. Two connectors attach to your cellular phone’s battery, feeding it juice from the highly efficient solar cell.

Wilby conceived the idea on a paper napkin after being constantly frustrated when his phone kept running out of power. Since then, Simon Wilby has seen the enormous potential of The Smart One and dreams of applying the same technology on a much wider scale.

What Simon and people on the go have in common is their desire to have better communication and better battery life to deliver it. With that in mind, the creative juices of Simon Wilby The Smart Power CEO has inspired him to create The Smart One, a lithium based battery that is unlike any other. This is because The Smart One can be charged using any forms of light, whether ambient or solar. This means that this battery will bring an end to the heavy and bulky chargers that need to be hooked up to an electric socket before it will work.

Simon Wilby is also the CEO of The Smart Power, the manufacturer and producer of The Smart One. The Smart Power will have its international headquarters in Bridgetown, Barbados. These batteries come with mini-solar panels that can convert light to energy that is renewable and emissions-free. You will never go out of batteries, and you save Mother Earth, too!
