A Peek Inside Simon Wilby’s Solar Powered Cell Phone Battery

20 seconds…that’s all it takes to convert a standard cell phone to a solar powered device.

The Smart Power Inc., a company based in Barbados that harvests alternative energy for household use, has recently announced the availability of a solar powered battery for the local market. This device is designed to replace standard lithium-ion batteries and chargers with one that runs on solar power. Matched with an updated battery technology called lithium exon, this alternative device is said to have excellent capabilities that outperform products available in the market today.

The Smart One permits extra long hours of uninterrupted talk time, which is made possible by its self-charging system that continuously converts light energy for cell phone use whenever exposed to light sources. From the usual 4 to 5 hours allowed by standard batteries, this innovative device pegs talk time at 14 hours, with 12 hours minimum. In addition, it makes use of the latest-technology plastic solar cells that do not only lessen problems associated with weight and bulkiness, but also improves the efficiency of energy conversion due to its full circuitry. This construction is the very reason why the solar panel can trap in light even while partially exposed.

With these capabilities, Simon Wilby’s genius creation is expected to replace traditional cell phone batteries and chargers.
